They include maritime security, drones, power generation, or emergency health-care, but also ISR, space, and cybersecurity companies.
We attended a NATO DIANA and NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) briefing for companies which could use some help navigating the system. NIF reviewed over a thousand companies, selected roughly 10% for the cohort and 1% for Mission Track. It's a choice, when you're trying to match companies solving specific problems with defense requirements or procurement programs which might not even exist yet. And solutions don't stop at companies either, secured supply-chains being a primary concern, among NATO countries, in geographic proximity, as the new 'industrial base' reality to deal with.

Space reconstitution relies on workforce availability and readiness in the industrial base, but the U.S. space industrial base faces severe workforce shortfalls. The USSF must provide support to Industry, as it leads a workforce strategy that addresses near-term urgency and long-term development.
